Local Government Heritage Assistance Program

The Local Government Heritage Assistance Program was established to assist local governments to increase their capacity to carry out their assessment and planning responsibilities relating to heritage places.

Eligible projects generally included works or schemes that assisted local governments to undertake heritage projects, with a focus on planning issues.

Maximum funding available in one financial year was $33,000 per project or $100,000 per project over three years.

Applications are assessed according to an agreed set of criteria and priorities but all funding decisions are discretionary.

Funding has not been secured for the Assistance Program for this financial year.  No applications will be taken until further notice. Please contact Local Government Services if you would like to discuss alternatives.

Detailed information regarding the program is provided in the Local Government Heritage Assistance Program Guidelines.
