The Heritage Council of WA has a newly established Local Government Services unit, dedicated to assisting local governments with heritage planning, maintaining local heritage inventories and the development of grants and incentives for heritage conservation.

Local Heritage Toolkit
Five new documents are now accessible through the Local Government Research and Resources table.
The tool kit is a result of the Supporting Local Government Project developed by the Heritage Chairs and Officials of Australia and New Zealand (HCOAZ). This project aims to improve the capacity of local governments across Australia and New Zealand to protect local heritage places.
The documents provide valuable advice and guidance on a range of issues including strategic, statutory and non-statutory actions that will assist local government to engender community support and build capacity to deliver good heritage management.
