Renewable Energy
Installing renewable energy systems, such as solar panels, on existing buildings is becoming more popular as more Western Australians embrace the concept of sustainable living.
Heritage properties are not exempt from social change and increasingly owners are asking for guidance on how to install such systems.
We have produced an information sheet that sets out the basic principles as a guide to owners interested in renewable energy systems.
The Heritage Council of Tasmania has also produced a brochure that provides some good examples of how owners have installed these systems on heritage-listed properties without substantially impacting on the heritage fabric and look of the property.
Remember, if the work does not require approval from your local government authority, you will still need to seek advice from us before commencing work.
